Would you like to get involved with a research project, carry out studies and investigations that are cross-disciplinary? The Computing and Education Research Group within the School of Computer Science are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on the research project ‘EMOSys – Emotion Monitoring Online System’.
This project will look at how environmental factors in the lecture room can affect the learning process. Looking at how the environment affects attention, alertness and engagement, working with a student from Psychology we will develop an online software system to allow students to provide active feedback. In addition monitoring technology will be built, which will be predominately Arduino based, to carry out a research study looking at these factors.
Strong programming skills are a must here with PHP and C an advantage. There will also be a bursary associated with this project.
